Château Martinho 2015

€ 32,00 (including VAT)

Located on the heights, between the hilltops of Fonréaud and Fourcas, the Listrac plateau “can be compared to the most beautiful exhibitions of the Médoc” (M. d'Armaihac, quoted by Cocks and Féret, in 16th edition). The soils of the vineyard, mostly sandy-gravelly and naturally drained, thus benefit from generous sunshine.

So many qualities that define a warm and precocious terroir, particularly favorable to the maturation of the grapes, which has long demonstrated its ability to give birth to great wines.

Expanded according to opportunities, the vineyard now covers 2.8 hectares. The extension was carried out on diversified soils, particularly suitable for the development of Cabernet Sauvignon. This new deal has made it possible to modify the initial configuration of the grape varieties, which gave pride of place to Merlot, in the direction of a more “Médoc” definition of wine.

The nose is fruity and offers a fine power as well as a fine creamy sensation. It reveals notes of crushed cassis, violet, and small notes of cherry associated with touches of raspberry, cornflower, vanilla, and subtle hints of almond milk. The palate is fruity, mineral, and racy and offers freshness, fat, and fullness as well as a mineral frame and a fine unctuosity. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of pulpy/fresh blackberry, raspberry, and small notes of violet, and cornflower associated with touches of cherry, crunchy/fresh strawberry as well as hints of licorice, vanilla, and an imperceptible hint of fresh mild tobacco (in the background). Tannins are well-built.
