Château d'Eyran 2018
Blended from Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, Pessac-Léognan wines are beautifully balanced with fine-grained structured tannins, and exhibit classic notes of tobacco, cassis, dark cherry, leather and tar, as well as a distinctive minerality.
The nose is fruity and offers a small power, a fine intensity, and a very fine flowery side. It reveals notes of fleshy blackberry, fleshy cassis, small notes of lilac, lily associated with touches of racy minerality/gravels, strawberry as well as a subtle hint of camphor, violet, a very discreet hint of chocolate. The palate is fruity, very finely tight, silky, fat, and offers freshness, minerality as well as a small gourmandize, a mineral frame. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of juicy/pulpy blackberry, juicy cassis, small notes of cornflower associated with touches of lily, small crushed blue fruits, lilac as well as hints of graphite, chocolate, a subtle hint of hazelnut, and vanilla. Good length. Tannins are well-built.
